Twinnebago Walk-through

Full steam ahead on the Twinnabego build, after a brief slowdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. For those of you not familiar, it is a 1972 Winnebago Indian. It clocks in at 22 feet. Originally it was powered by a big block Dodge, but in its place now resides a 6.0 Junkyard engine that has been fully rebuilt with Mahle components, Crower valvetrain, and a War Performance intake manifold and throttle body. It will be shifting gears through a 4L80E automatic transmission that is coupled to a custom shortened driveshaft and the original rearend.

To make this build a little bit for fun and interesting we fitted two 62mm turbos along with a 4” automatic cutout from Granatelli Motorsports for a little extra exhaust sound when we want to put the pedal to the floor in the 70s era camper.

As far as other mods, the Winnebago has been lowered 3 inches and the chassis has been rewired. The interior has also been renovated. Currently, the brake system has also been modernized with a GM hydroboost master cylinder out of a 2004 GMC Tahoe.

We are hoping to fire it in a couple of weeks. The engine will first be fired live on YouTube, so make sure you subscribe.
