LeMay Museum honors Saleen

Steve Saleen was honored at the LeMay Museum in Tacoma, Washington, on November 15, 2019.

Owners of iconic and historic Saleen vehicles offered their iconic cars to be displayed in the museum as a part of the exhibit that celebrates a man who rose up from a humble racing background to become an iconic designer and manufacturer of street and record winning race cars.

Featured in the exhibit was Saleen’s Pro Atlantic Race Car that he raced against Gilles Villeneuve, Danny Sullivan, Bobby Rahall, and Keke Rosberg. Steve and his wife, Liz, recently reacquired the car from a collector and restored it for display. His nickname “Gas Saleen” prominently adorns the sides of the cockpit.

The next day, Saturday, November 16, a car show was held in his honor with many Saleen owners attending to honor the namesake of their cars.
